I think cardboard is much better for this project. It's durable enough, much easier to find and cheaper, can be easily shaped and very glue friendly. Also, it discards the need for 3d printed parts.

Thank you for the inspiration! I tried to follow a made a few triangles. The worst thing was to get all the components from e-shop(s). I also decided to go for triangles with length of a=500 mm so I need to additionally cut ALU profiles. Also facing was kind of tricky for me, but the more I created the more I was skilled. Thank you again!

great idea for diy panels. Even owning a 3d printer, there’s no way i could get the materials to equal $5 per panel. more like $20-25 for a 16in equilateral triangle frame.

The band practice rooms I used to practice at had cardboard egg pallets bolted to the walls and fluffy carpet glued over that. The carpet soaks up a lot of sound and the egg pallets reduced the presence of flat surface and hard angles, thereby scattering the sound and reducing revib

I like the idea of triangles. However, your corners are not sharp enough for my taste. Also, you are using the wrong absorption material. Foam and plain Rock Wool will not absorb as deep as high-density rock wool. You can buy this as near-solid sheets from both Rock Wool and Isover. Rockfon (not cheap) also sells these and they have acoustics graphs so you can see the performance. You can also add a little space behind the absorbers - it will let them absorb deeper frequencies.

Thanks for the video! Out of curiosity does the aluminium frame do anything other than hold everything? I would have thought that having metal would only make sound bounce around more.. Is it not possible to just sew a cover around the foam and hang it up? Essentially make wall cushions!?

Leaving an air gap btw. the panel and the wall would vastly increase LF absorbtion performance. Because of refraction and also getting quite more absorbing surface

It needs to be said that you can go over board by putting up to much and completely killing any liveliness that your room may have, so don't put up to much you just want to tame the amount of reverberation in the room and not completely kill it. Nice vid as usual.
